This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used and shared when you use the GoodLift mobile app ("GoodLift", "the app"). Please read it alongside our Terms of Use.
Who we are
GoodLift is operated by Razors Edge Personal Training LTD ("we", "us", "our"), based in New Zealand. The Goodlift Training App is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at richard@razorsedgept.com.
Information you provide
When you create an account and use GoodLift, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include:
- account and profile information, such as your username, full name, email address, date of birth and sex, where supplied;
- onboarding and training-profile information, such as your goals, experience level, available equipment and any injury information you choose to enter.
You can use GoodLift without providing optional details, although some features work best when your profile is complete.
Training and workout data
GoodLift is a training tool, so much of the information it holds is the training you create and record, including:
- workout plans, templates and planned training blocks;
- completed workouts, exercises and sets;
- weight, repetitions, RIR and velocity where recorded;
- workout duration and notes;
- training history;
- body-weight records, where you enter them.
Generated insights
GoodLift calculates training insights from the data you record, such as estimated one-rep-max trends, exercise-level analytics and progression recommendations. These insights are generated from your logged training and are provided as informational guidance to support your own decisions.
Subscription and transaction-related information
If you purchase a GoodLift membership, we and our payment providers process information needed to manage your subscription, such as your membership status and transaction or receipt identifiers. Payments are handled by Apple's in-app purchase system or by Stripe, depending on how you subscribe. We do not collect or store your full card details; those are handled by the relevant payment provider.
Media and communications
If you use features that let you create posts, send messages or upload media, we process that content and related information so the feature can work. Please do not share sensitive personal information you would not want stored.
Local device storage
GoodLift stores some information directly on your device to keep the app fast and usable, including a local workout and application cache and app preferences. This is handled using on-device storage such as Isar and SharedPreferences. Local data generally remains on your device until the app data is cleared or the app is removed.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide and operate the app and your account;
- save your plans, templates and recorded training;
- generate training history, insights and progression recommendations;
- provide and manage memberships and process transactions;
- provide support and respond to your requests;
- maintain the security, integrity and reliability of the service;
- understand the effectiveness of our advertising, in aggregate, through attribution measurement;
- meet legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.
Services we rely on
We use a limited set of third-party services to run GoodLift. These providers process information on our behalf or in connection with their own services:
- Firebase Authentication — to create and manage your account sign-in.
- Cloud Firestore — to store your account, training and related data.
- Firebase Storage — to store uploaded media where you use those features.
- Firebase App Check — to help protect our backend from abuse.
- Google Sign-In — available on Android as a sign-in option.
- Apple in-app purchases — to process App Store subscriptions.
- Stripe — to process payments made through the website or Stripe billing route.
- Meta / Facebook — we use Meta app events and server-side conversion attribution to measure the effectiveness of advertising. This is used for advertising attribution and measurement.
During sign-up, GoodLift may briefly use temporary anonymous Firebase authentication internally to check account availability. Your user-facing account remains a Firebase account associated with a single user identifier, and your account information can follow the same login across your devices.
Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy practices. We only use the services listed above; we do not currently use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, RevenueCat, or native Google Play Billing in the audited production app.
This website (goodliftapp.com) loads the Monda web font from Google Fonts so headings display consistently; your browser requests the font files from Google when you visit. The website itself does not use analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and sets no tracking cookies.
Storage, security and international processing
Information is stored using the services described above, which may process and store data on servers located outside New Zealand, including in other countries where our providers operate. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we remove the related account records as described below. Some information may be retained where necessary to complete deletion requests, resolve billing or security issues, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations or maintain limited audit records. We do not retain more than we reasonably need for these purposes.
Account deletion and data requests
You can start account deletion inside the app through Settings. The deletion process removes your Firebase login and primary account records. Because of how data is stored and cached, some associated or cached information may require additional cleanup or support assistance, and some limited information may be retained for the purposes described under Data retention.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. See the delete-account page for full instructions, including how to cancel a subscription. If you cannot access the app, or you want help with a data request, email richard@razorsedgept.com.
Children and minimum age
GoodLift is intended for people aged 13 and over, and is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps. Where stricter local age requirements apply, you must meet them to use the app.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update much of your profile in the app, and you can contact us to make a request. We will respond consistently with applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of GoodLift after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
